Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    Just so yis know, you need at least 25MB free internally for the install.

    Cheers for the info was at 15MB free now at just under 27MB so hopefully should be ok.

    spent an hour or two yesterday debranding from 02 and updating to 1.21

    just finished re adding all my apps and what a time for "check updates" to reply nicely...

    downloaded it!! 90 MB needs 25 mb to install. i had 20mb, was wondering why wasn;t it installed:p

    My htc desire was bought in the carphone warehouse it is not locked but is branded what do I have to do to get this update

    youll have to wait til your carrier releases their version unfortunately. I also got mine from CPW but fortunately its unbranded so am happily running froyo right now. :)

    No point, it's very easy. Just goto your homescreen, push menu and go in to settings.

    Go to About phone and then System Software Updates.

    Then just Check for Updates and that's all there is to it.

    I am doing that but it is saying my yoke is up to date fecking 02 branded

    Ah then you need to debrand your phone and root it to update to FroYo. Not difficult by any means, you just need to create a Goldcard and then root.

    Update seems to have solved the issue i was having with the WIFI locking up when the phone went to sleep, fingers crossed.

    RTE player and 4OD also work great.

    The camera is working fine now but one video I took is all blue. The other 4 are fine.

    I thought that froyp would allow you to sync with itunes. Anyone any ideas how to get it working?

    tried everything but itunes just doesnt care. id say it has something to do with htc's sync tool. if you've used doubletwist, id say they'll copy that

    I installed the update about 1 hour ago. So far so good! I like the keyboard improvements - more locales, and easy to switch between them! I often text in German and English, so being able to use German text prediction and also switch quickly between languages is a BIG plus for me!

    Its supposed to be quicker as well, although its hard to tell since the update involves a reboot - things always run faster after a reboot. But the OS is certainly snappy as always. Anyone have any objective benchmarks for this though?
