Music Technology, need some info :)

Hey all,

so i've been really thinking about doing music technology. As far as i know (but i may be wrong) Music technology is all about sound production (eg recording, or sound engineering for theather, or working in a recording studio)

now if thats not what music technology is, then can someone please tell me what it is?

also, i hear maynooth is a lovely college to go to, a complete student town, is this right? (cept i hear theres only like 2 pubs :L)

also whats it like to get jobs up there? e.g partime job to help support college?

2 pubs? Haha.. there are like 7 pubs, maybe more.

I think there is alot of comp science involved with music tech.

Here's the a look at the subjects covered in Dundalk, don't imagine there's much difference in what they study.

Wouldn't there be a tiny bit of difference in subjects covered between a Masters and an Undergraduate degree?

Only in the depth of study. There's only so many topics you can fit under the name "Music Technology". You don't need a Music Tech degree to do a Masters in it!

Wouldn't one have to know at least something about Music Tech in order to pursue a Masters degree in it? Also what's the point in doing a Masters in Music Tech when you'd all ready have studied most of the stuff at Undergraduate level, wouldn't you be wasting your time doing the Masters then.
