I reckon the hardened edition will be about €65/70. Stell boxed games usually cost about that.

    what's a stell box?

    :pac:

    Latest news on MW2...
New perks, killstreaks, DEATHSTREAKS etc. Yes! deathstreaks! For 11 kills you will get an ac-130 plane (like one for Death from Above mission in cod4) and for 3 deaths you get copycat which allows you to use your killers gun and perks even if you have not yet unlocked them. Another new killstreak option is a care pack which is a supply crate dropped onto map wherever you choose which can contain ammo or guns or a killstreak toy (airstrike etc.) but anyone can open the crate (from either team).
You can now replace your frags with throwing knifes (one hit kill) or tactical insertion (choose spawn point) or riot shield. For all info seehttp://www.gamespot.com/ps3/action/modernwarfare2/news.html?sid=6227722&om_act=convert&om_clk=newsfeatures&tag=newsfeatures;title;2&mode=previews&page=1

I predict these boxsets are going to suffer the same faith as the Halo 3 helmet editions and end up taking space as unsold items in warehouses. I don't think games are really big enough to warrant anything other than the traditional special edition sets. I think these companies should just take a leaf out of Atlus USA's book and offer something like they do. Simple special edition with something like the soundtrack included or a nice plush toy. However Atlus USA caters to a niche but rabid fanbase that is going to gobble up these kinds of extras and love all the extras. Modern Warfare fans couldn't give a **** about night vision goggles and just want the cheapest way to get online and start shooting people. I really think Activision are over estimating how big MW2 is going to be. I'm sure it will be the number 1 seller this year but it's not going to be a huge cultural revolution that activision seem to think it will be. The fans of this game aren't crazy shin megami tensei fans that are obsessed with the universe of the game. MW2 fans will be regular joe soaps, a mix of casual gamers and people that take their FPS games seriously. It's not like it's a collectable either. You won't see the prestige edition on ebay in a couple of years time going for extortionate prices unlike something like Devil Summoner 2 with the jack frost plush doll.

Seems good! Good for anyone who can't get their hand on prestige edition (I managed to get one:D) but can you use the irish loyalty card or just an english one? Is there a difference?

Edit: In small print at bottom it says
*T's&C's: UK ONLY. Limited Reward Card Holder Offer. Offer available while stocks last. Customers who preorder Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 Veteran Package must have a GAME Reward Card linked to their Game.co.uk account.
Seems like ROI unable to buy! Maybe if you head/live over border you might be able to get it...

AS far as I know the place I pre-ordered it, is doing one, on Williams st. in Limerick city, where a pair of NVs will be a welcome edition if you've seen the recent episode of crime capitals....

Its purely for the novelty of them, they are of no use to us at all, besides looking cool on their silver stand in the corner of the den!!!

Well in our current economic climate, the savings on ESB are going to be phenomenal, no more energy saving bulbs for me....

What is the best shop to pre-order from? Game or Gamestop? I'm gonna trade in a few games against it, was in gamestop today and they want 3 games so i can buy it for €2 (Standard Edition), but these are fairly decent games like Batman AA. Would game be any better?

PS. How much are Microsoft paying IW to endorse the Xbox? Every video i see of the game or of dev diaries, there's Xbox live logo's everywhere and all they mention is xbox live, not a mention of the PSN.

Serious??? €90 for hardened edition??? Ha!!! F**k ye friends!!! They've been slagging me pretty much constantly since learning I'm paying €160 for the Prestige Edition, they've all ordered the hardened edition!!! This makes me feel better that they're getting ripped off for pretty much just the game, not that much special about it!!! Makes my pres ed seem like better value!!!! They'll feel like giant douches now!!! *Evil laugh* *evil laugh* *evil laugh*
