Dead alien found in Russia: viral video spotlight

A video posted on YouTube that allegedly shows the discovery of a dead alien has received over a million views in two days and attracted press attention around the world. The video titled "Dead alien found in UFO hotspot in Russia ; With translation" was uploaded to YouTube on April 17 by user Allnewsweb. As of 12pm GMT on April 19 the video had attracted 1,047,153 views, is the most watched video of the day and according to YouTube is the most discussed "science and technology video" around the world. The video was taken by two Russian walkers in Siberia. According to the blurb attached to the video the images are related to a news story published last month in Russia about sightings of what many claim was a UFO crash. The one and a half minute video shows an object that is claimed to be the dead body of an alien. The object has a large grey skull, large black eyes and four limbs and bears a resemblance to the famous alien in the film E.T. YouTube users are divided over the authenticity of the video and debate rages over whether the video does indeed show a deceased alien life form or is an elaborate hoax. The video has received coverage in several news outlets, including the online version of British papers 'Daily Mail' and 'The Sun' as well as UFO conspiracy magazines. People assume, for reasons best known to themselves that aliens will have arms legs and hands like a hominid.

These are features distinct to the evolution within our planet and not likely to be replicated on any other alien planet.

So i conclude that this is stupid and gay.

You have obviously never seen Star Wars, most alien life have legs and hands, sure how else would they get around or pick stuff up.

I remember watching a program about what life on other planets might look like. The conclusion was that if life on another planet reached something like we have here, rather than being something beyond our comprehension it might be scarily similar.

The main premise behind the argument was that rather than being delicate and evolving in a random manner, life can start up anywhere provided the conditions are right. However, because of these conditions life has to follow certain patterns. There would still be massive variation but things like eyes, nervous systems, skeletons etc are almost inevitable.

Without an alien to compare too you can't really saying anything like that with any degree of certainty.

Limbs, like eyes, just make sense. It is reasonable to assume that if there are aliens out there somewhere they might have them.

Why can't they look like us or have limbs like us?

think about it you can't have get around on biological wheels as nerves/muscles etc will get tangled/ripped etc.

if they need to see they'll require eyes. front facing if they are a hunter.

they'll need arms to help with feeding.

they might not be the exact same as us in every way but the basics will be the same

The eye is one of the longest formed by products of evolution, its position, its shape and sensitivity are changed based on the habitat and requirements of the holder.

While i do agree that we are part of the universe and there are the same minerals and chemicals on other planets that there are here on earth, the only assumption we can make is that other life forms will be carbon based - im no dawkins, but i believe the term is carbon chauvinism.

As all life on this planet are related we share dna, humans and daffodils share something like 25% of their dna we are a product of what worked on our environment - our world. The largest animal to ever exist is the blue whale, however it is believed in some theories that if the earth was as big as Saturn that some of the life forms on these planets would dwarf the blue whale in size.

Life is not as fragile as we might think it is, they are finding some evidance of life forms on other planets that would be very inhospitable to life.

I suppose the point im making is - the creatures on this planet evolved from common ancestors, we are a bi product of our planet - the bottom line is - for alien planets the rules are different, different environments different evolution

The only evidence we have had thus far of alien life is Michael Jackson, yes he did share some human characteristics, but many of them started to fall off proving that he never had them when he landed here
