Getting around IP restrictions to use BBC iPlayer

Can anyone suggest a safe and uncomplicated way of tweaking my IP address so that I can use BBC iPlayer. And not screw up my computer / ip address.

I've registered and downloaded iPlayer but as I've an Irish IP I'm screwed. I need a UK or NI one I guess.

Anonomysers are no good as they just do individual web pages.

I need what I think is a VPN or IP Tunnel!

Any ideas? Anyone done this already? Is there a cost?

Maybe if you used an online UK proxy server?
You will be using their IP address opposed to your own.

I read some where that the 3G BB server was based in England, can't use it to watch RTE but should get BBC on it.

It's Kontiki and MS DRM based like Sky's

Even when you don't watch it uses your bandwidth anytime your PC is on.

It saves BBC bandwitdh but all the users pay and it is inefficient and slows the whole network down.
better than Web cam definition TV of real channels should be kept to broadcast systems. The BBC should know better, except they have outsourced most of their IT and got rid of most of the World Class Engineering including transmitter group.

Get a Satellite dish and don't waste your Cap.

just tried that through first link and I get this message when i click open: "unable to open connection to http. host does not exist"

any ideas whats happening?
