TUNING GUIDE FOR ALL UK FTA CHANNELS - BBC / ITV / CH 4 / FIVE AND MORE!

SKY/SKY+ STANDARD DEFINTION DIGIBOXES
To add channels to your "Other Channels" option on a standard Sky Digibox then simply do the following....

· Press the "SERVICES" button (near the top of the remote).
· Highlight option 4 ("SYSTEM SET-UP"), press "SELECT" and then highlight option 4 again ("ADD CHANNELS") and press "SELECT".
· In the appropriate fields enter the information required (you move through the fields using the "UP ARROW" and "DOWN ARROW" keys).

· In the FREQUENCY field enter the 5 digit code, (it starts with either 10, 11 or 12 in the table below). Don't worry about the full stop in the frequencies in the table below, you do not have to enter them on Sky Digiboxes.

· The next three fields are toggle fields, i.e. you use the "LEFT ARROW" and "RIGHT ARROW" keys to change the values.

Toggle Polarisation - either H or V
Toggle Symbol Rate - either 22000 or 27500 (29500 is for HD channels only and they cannot be received on a Sky Standard Definition Digibox)
Toggle FEC - either 1/2, 2/3, 3/4, 5/6 or 7/8 (only 2/3, 3/4 or 5/6 are used on the channels below)

· Then move down to the last last option - "FIND CHANNELS". Press "SELECT" and wait for the channels to appear.

· Use the "YELLOW" button to place a tick beside each channel you find and wish to store and when you've finished ticking press "SELECT". These channels will now be stored in your "OTHER CHANNELS" menu. (Press "SERVICES" then select "OTHER CHANNELS" at the bottom).

SKY+HD DIGIBOX
For those with a Sky+HD receiver that has the new EPG, follow the steps below:

· Press the "SERVICES" button and then push "LEFT ARROW" twice until you see "OPTIONS" highlighted.

· Now press the "DOWN ARROW" on your remote and on the middle menu press the "LEFT ARROW" four times until you see "ADD CHANNELS" highlighted.

· Now, press the "DOWN ARROW" again and enter in the information required from the table below for the channel you wish to view. When finished, press "YELLOW" to scan for the channels.

· Use the "YELLOW" button to place a tick beside each channel you find and wish to store and when you've finished ticking press "SELECT". These channels will now be stored in your "OTHER CHANNELS" menu. (To get to it, press "SERVICES" then press the "DOWN ARROW" then press the "RIGHT ARROW" four times ("OTHER CHANNELS" should be highlighted), then press "DOWN ARROW" again.

RECEIVERS BY OTHER MANUFACTURERS
For the many non-Sky FTA satellite receivers that are available out there, you will have to consult your user manual for how to scan for new channels as each box has different menu systems and options.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, the following channels (with a few exceptions, explained below) are now all available via satellite FTA (Free To Air), meaning no card is required, just tune it in and you can watch away.

All channels listed are the NI/UK variants which means there are NO blocked programmes or films, everything is unrestricted!

IMPORTANT - For channels listed in BOLD BLUE, see the notes below the table!

CHANNEL 4 HD - This channel is currently 'Free to View' (FTV) which means that a FTV card is required to watch. Irish subscription cards will NOT decode this channel and there is no ROI FTV card scheme, so a UK FTV card will have to be sourced if you want to watch Channel 4 HD. There is a strong chance though that once suitable space is found on Astra 2D that this channel will go FTA, so keep an eye out on the forums for any news on this if and when it happens.

FIVE USA and FIVER (and their +1's) - Same situation applies to these channels as it does for Channel 4 HD. Currently FTV and requiring a UK FTV card to watch but with a strong chance of going FTA when space is found for them on Astra 2D. Keep your eyes open for news on the forums.
