It depends on what kind of connections your tv has...
Does your tv have a hdmi port?

here's one which would do the same for a bit less money too...

also i'd doubt you'd get that price down much in DID it's not that bad of a price for a retail shop...

if you already have a PC , and just want a way of playing content on your TV, how about This for 100 odd euro ? Plus a cheap DVD player from adverts.ie and you're sorted

That's actually a wee bit overpriced, you could get one with at least a 500gb hard-drive in it for the same money.
There are media streamers, which simply stream video through your router to the tv from you computer....
If you wanted hd quality however (which you would) you'd need a wireless n router and a wifi card in you pc which is also n.....

Op What are you actually trying to do???

thanks for the replies so far guys.
what i am trying to do is use my LCD more or less as a monitor for a laptop. i want to view dvds, downloaded videos (avi's quicktime movies etc) and streamed video content. my tv has 3 hdmi ports an s-video port and a few scart and rgb ports. i alaos think it has a pc (?) port in the back
basically looking to know if this laptop will allow me to do this?
    thanks

I'm just thinking to myself now and would i be right in assuming that a graphics card in a cheap laptop might struggle to play hd content on a large screen?

What size is your lcd op?

For HD content CPU is what is used not the gfx card.

Case in point: I'm on Dell GX520 Pent 4 D with intel onboard gfx and hd content for the MS website in 720p and 1080p play smooth.

Dula core turion should be fine. As long as the laptop has a hdmi or a vga out to a modern telly, the op will be fine for playback.
