    Now. Purely for my own education of course, I wanted to find out how as a normally charter-abiding boardsie like myself could slip up in this way? So I embarked on operation 'Other Shoe', in an effort to understand my wrong-doings.

    So I posted in humanities in the "Race relations in Ireland" thread, ironically enough; Terrys exact quote. I've PM'ed the mod in question, apologizing for my action and promised to never re-offend in the forum. The post was rightfully deleted, and I was rightfully infracted:

    Of course, I was not being truly offensive. I apologize profusely to anyone I may have offended in the process, and I assure you I have some very dear English friends thanks to boards!


    In conclusion: It is perfectly acceptable to make racist remarks, yet a bannable offense to point them out; jokingly or otherwise.


    So, how come? :)

    The AH charter states that calling someone a racist is a bannable offence.
    How am I supposed to know you're joking?
    =p doesn't tell me anything.

    Humanities is the complete opposite of AH.

    My remark was made in jest. I know it was because I made it.

    The reason your ban was given a few days after the post is because my router is borked and I am having trouble getting on-line.
    I'll lift it now. It's about a week since the post was made anyway.

    I understand perfectly that it is pointless saying this to you, but I'll say it because I'm entitled to. I believe you chose not to see it.

    I don't go out of my way to cause trouble in AH Terry, granted my own views might not go down a storm, but I don't offend.
