I think thats very competitive. 18Month contract - ok - thats the norm - but at least they are being creative with their price plans. I like that Flex Units stuff.

Prices seem reasonable. Like the flexi units option.

That basic 40 quid deal isn't too bad at all, especially if one of the free add-ons suits you.

At least it's something different to what the other two offered so far (i.e. Vodafone looked at o2's plans and changed the name).

Im on Relax 350 with Three atm, does this mean if i want to get an iphone through 3, i have to change plan to one of the iPhone plans? or can i still pay my 49euro monthly fee?

IE would if i want to use my upgrade to get an iPhone, will i have to change to a price plan thats 40/60/80/95 euro per month?

I would think you will have to switch to the new price plans.

2GB data/Free Wifi/1 extra ad on is pretty decent on the 40euro per month plan.

Yeah I rang a couple of days ago and the guy said my plan would be different. The €40 plan is pretty similar to the Relax 350 except that 1 unit = 2 text messages or 500 kB data messages but easily compensated by free add on and 2 Gb of data.

studying it I suppose it is competitive alright, I guess my problem is everyone I ring or text is on VF so I'm caught..

I don't get it, this free add on business. Why would you choose the 500mb freebie instead of the 2gb one?
Anyway, was on to customer care just now to confirm my upgrade status and the girl said she couldn't give me any idea of prices but they hope to know later in the week! :)

    *rubs hands in glee*

Now, the only question is... do I get up at midnight to go in and get one?

Just gave them a call there (got the Mrs to call too, we've been keeping our upgrades for this) and we both got the same blank wall when trying to find out about upgrade discounts. Hopefully they know at midnight on Thursday.

The 2gb add on is only available to people on the highest plan according to the terms and conditions.

The €40 plan looks good to me with the extra add on. It should save me a few quid.

I recently got out of my contract with O2. Will I be able to just change over to Three without having to buy an Iphone 4?

Also if I have changed over to three and I want to buy an Iphone 4 down the line will I still be able to buy them at the prices quoted for upgrades and new customers?

Ah, I see it now. Small print is not where the iPad shines!

Sounds like a good deal to me... Meteor have been doing my head in lately, 3 deal looks pretty good and free 3 to 3 calls would suit me as most of my calls are made to the missus n she'd be on 3 too...

    Do three offer webtexts?

And I don't suppose Eirtext supports them? :)

Quite a big factor in reality, especially if you send a good few group texts.

Well I guess I'll be staying with Meteor... They just upgraded my contract and are sending me a new iphone for myself n the missus...

    Any chance of more details?

Are they sending you an iPhone 4 or 3Gs? Did they offer it to you or did you threaten to leave and demanded it? How much did they charge for the handset?

    Questions..:)

333 free webtexts a month but eirtext/any of the apps don't support it.
I left three about 4 months ago but was using eirtext on my iphone 3gs before that. It does support it unless there has been a change since

Are meteor sending you an iphone 3GS or iphone 4?

I'm not sure I like the flex units options. 350 units = 350 mins OR 700 texts. I think I'll try and buy a sim free iphone 4 and change my plan to meteor Smart Plan. They offer 500 mins, 500 texts, 2gb internet and free calls and texts to meteor for €5 more than the 3 plan mentioned above. I could always sell the phone I take with the plan towards my iPhone 4 couldn't I?

16gb 3Gs as far as I know... I threatened to leave, I've two numbers with them. Told them it was nonsense that I've been with them for 6 years and the new plans are only open to new customers. Said I was gonna move to 3 cause their plans are similar and they have the iphone.

They moved me to the new contracts and extended my free meteor to meteor calls from 12 - 18 months.

The handsets are free and I'll have them tomorrow. I'll be selling one of them and the 2 iphone 3g's that we have at the mo to buy myself a sim free 4g.

The 2gb comes free with all the plans. Its nit automatically free on the flex plans. The iphone plans are flex max.

this looks generous to me I could have 550 minutes, 200 texts and 2 gb for 60 euro. wonder what the reception is like in the sticks

    I'm afraid I don't understand this sentence!

Do you get 2GB allowance automatically (without an add on) on all the plans in that table is what I'm wondering? :)

im actually well impressed with threes price plans. i love the flexiplan idea. now i can simply only text all i want without having to think in the back of my head "gee im letting all this voice call time go to waste"
I for one will be at the limerick 3 store at midnight

    Yes.

The terms and conditions state that your free add-on cannot be a data add-on, therefore your data allowance is part of the package.

Looks like I'm going with Three, I'll be F5in' the page come midnight Friday with my laser card and bank details ready to copy and paste in. Now just need to sell my 3G...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 201 ✭✭OCD

do you need to be an existing 3 customer to stand a chance of getting this on friday or is it a free-for-all?

three's prices are fantastic but are there any 3 users out there that would wholeheartedly recommend them?

to be honest. 3 really isnt that popular of a network. its not because its bad, just popularitywise. i think this iphone release for them will give them an amazing customer base. for this reason, dont expect the prices to stay this good for too long. get on the bandwagon while you can
