since this is a recurring question.
Use this thread to list the shops you know of, sorted by location, and add a comment if you've shopped there yourself. Note the range of equipment they sell, especially the less usual stuff ('the stick', specialist tri or athletics equipment)

    Dublin
Elverys Dundrum Shopping Centre and Suffolk Street
Stock: General sports shop, decent range of running gear
    Comments: Free gait analysis

    Wicklow
    Amphibian King in Bray
Stock: Runners, running clothes, gels, 'the stick', wetsuits, HRMs
Comments: Highly recommended - good range, knowledgable staff, free gait analysis

    Nationwide
    Lidl & Aldi
Stock: No permanent stock, but regular specials of running gear
Comments: Decent quality gear, usually sells out pretty fast

    Online

    www.timetorun.co.uk
They sell their own brand technical running gear which is good quality at a reasonable price. UK based. Delivery to Ireland is cheap and efficient in my experience

www.sub4.ie good irish online store and they always seem to throw in a few gels.

Mick Dowlings Sports Worls in Terenure I found Mick very helpful, prices aren't too bad either. No gait analysis but Mick was able to pick the right shoe for me
StartFitness.co.uk Their own MoreMile brand is very good value. Some good deals on footwear but postage can be expensive when you buy a few pairs. Their shop is in Newcastle if you're in the area
RunWorx on Fonthill Road I've only bought a few bits and pieces here but the bikes are worth a look alone. They also do gait analysis
Sub4.ie Found these guys very helpful and their prices are good.

    Wicklow

Avondale sports in Rathdrum, run by Bill Porter, Mr. Athletics in Co Wicklow (and beyond). Pay a bit more (than online) for the shoes, receive priceless info on whatever injury/training program/racing strategy you could care to query. Full price is a fair trade when you're getting expert advice, something the online retailers can't offer so freely.

    +1

I ordered a jacket online from them as a present for someone, when it arrived it was a little small. No problem... I posted it back on Saturday and on Wednesday I had the new jacket back. Brilliant service!

Feet First in Killarney, on Main Street.
They offer free gait analysis as well.

Their preferred brand seems to be Mizuno, but other stuff is available as well.

They organise a lot of races in Killarney and staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. I can definitely recommend them.

Sorry niall1980 but that's the sort of advertising we don't allow on the forum. Recommendations from regular posters are fine, promoting your friends website isn't.

In Waterford City Centre there is Total Tri Sports on Patrick Street and Alfie Hales Sports Shop just by City Square, both have Facebook pages and you can get details there. If you are a member of a TI club they normally offer 10% discount at both shops.

Irish Fit under another name. Get your money back and stay well away.
