!!Win €20 for guessing GAA results !!!

That’s Right all you have to do is guess the out come of each round of matches.
You will predict both football and hurling matches and the person who has the most points at the end of the all Ireland will win a €10 voucher for a major retail outlet.

There is €10 for the top hurling score and football score and I will post league tables weekly
To keep you updated on the score. There will also be a prize for the person who scores the most points in one week.

Here are the instructions

1. Look out for the Prediction thread from PH01 every week

2. Copy and paste the fixtures into your reply

3. Say what you believe the result will be and by how many points
(E.g. Kerry V Galway - Kerry to win by 3 points)

4. Pick you bonus game and predict the exact score
(e.g. Kerry V Galway - Galway 3-15 V Kerry 2-20)

Scoring

Points are as follows

2 points for correct prediction
3 points for margin of result
4 points for a draw
5 points for bonus match


Basic Rules

o No entries later than 1 hour before first match
o My decision is final – If I do make a mistake you can PM me and I will make changes if I concede there has been a mistake
o The €10 euro voucher for the winner will be for a major retail outlet in Ireland such as Arnotts, lifestyle. The choice will be the winners

The most important rule is this “ Judges decision is final” I am the judge. I am a reasonable judge and will listen to queries. But what I say goes.

Fair dues to you Al. To get others in maybe you should find a way of letting the soccer forum users know about it. Perhaps have a word with Gandalf and Vaggabond or PM them and ask them to put a sticky

Ive jus a few queries about the scoring system......Explain what u mean Margin results + if it wat i mthikning off should the correct prediction ont mena more points?Also how come you get 4 points if the match is a draw..r is it if u guess that itll be a draw?

You get 3 points instead of 2 if you manage to guess how many points a team will win by

Example

Dublin V Laois - Dublin to win by 5 points

Result

Dublin 1-15 Laois 1-10 ( 3 points awarded for correct margin)
If the dubs won by more or less than 5 points you would get 2 points and if they lost or drew you would get nothing

If you can predict a draw then you get 4 points cause its much more difficult to predict a draw

Ill try and keep an eye on your fixtures but I dont think ladies football will be included. Not many peopel know enough about it I feel.

As a sport ladies GAA is no where near as good as camogie and it just doesnt have the exposure to be included in our little compi

Ok one final decision

The competition starts as of This weekends matches.
After reviewing the all the other scores im afraid a few regualr posters would run away with the compition.

So There will be a totaly new competition starting as of this weekend.

Having said that, l am keepeing a record form the very first matches and I will post these results in my journal. i will let everyone know when they are there.

What a great idea. This is a much better way of making the championship interesting than the feckin back door!

Alany, it might be an idea to change the scoring for the Bonus match to predicting the correct score for every match. PORNAPSTER has already put in predicted score for each match for this weeks predictions, and I followed suit.
It will add an extra skill level to your prediction. First level is predicting who'll win (or draw), next is the correct scoring margin and finally predicting the correct score takes a lot of skill and this should be rewarded for all matches

my only concern is that we have already established the rules and changing them at this time may cause confusion...let me think about it.

One question: As it stands the total table have 2leaders in myself and Waylander. How do you decide on who goes top?

This will only be an issue really when its time to announce the winner at which time the leader will be the person with the most correct margins

for example if someone has 10 correct results and 2 correct margins adding to 26 points and someone else has 13 correct results the person with the 2 correct margins wins.

its all results are the same then I will have to think of something else.... Im thinking Im going to have you guys guess the result of some crappy leauge game...and the result will be a total guess
