Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What the f$ck is it with irish people that they MUST support Celtic.
WOrse than that EVERY irish person according to them MUST also support celtic.
**** even your dog has to support Celtic.
And then you HAVE to boo every ex rangers player on the planet.
Can a rangers supporter walk around Dublin with a rangers shirt?
Do people just need someone to hate?
By the way i support neither team, just making a point.

God , i'ld love to see Celtic and rangers merge into one team, just to watch and see what the poor supporters(robots) do with themselves.

    i guess you're a celtic supporter then :)

    I am indeed.
I think this has been blown out of proportion. I personally would'nt take part in what happened last nite but it's a part of football I'm afraid. Things like this will never change, it's probably a unique enough situation because of the whole irish/celtic connection.

I don't even notice the kind of stuff that happened last night anymore, but i do find it very strange that irish people seem to support celtic as a national pasttime.
Ever see the rough looking bald guy in the city centre with the Rowweiler.
He wears his celtic shirt and his dog wears one too.

Of course you can, the question is should you, to which the answer is most definitely no. Because there are a lot of morons out there who do need something to hate, and Rangers will do nicely.

I don't support Celtic, mainly because their standard of football is crap, and the league they play in is $hite. If they played to a good standard in La Liga or Serie A it might be a different matter :)

But I certainly won't take the 'you're Irish so you must support Celtic because some Irish guy founded them in 1888' argument.

I find scottish football monotonous and boring and therefore dont suppot any team up there. I might watch Celtic play in Europe and probably prefer them over Rangers (prob just cos almost everyone here seems too).

Then again im only half irish so only the passing interest is all thats expected.

I dare you to go up to the rottweiler and tell him what you think of his football team! :);):D

I have to agree that its just going to be a part of the game. But hey at least we're not like other fans. We don't throw things onto the pitch which some people do when the other team score a goal ffs.

Yes i dont think its a case of having to support celtic if ur irish. its more ya have to be catholic to be irish which is a load of sh1te in my opinion. wearing a celtic shirt is an expression of catholicism which is a misplaced form of nationalism. i was appauled at the number of ppl booing shota arvaladze merely because he was playing for rangers. you dont see mee booing kenny cunningham on the basis that he plays for birmingham(im a villa fan), celtic are a crap team and the spl is just a joke.

They're a hell of a lot better than poxy Villa.

And your argument is ridiculous - Kenny Cunningham plays for YOUR team, Arveladze is an opposition player.

so you think st. pats or shelbourne would beat hearts by a few goals then?
i doubt it, hearts beat celtic a month or 2 ago

i'd agree that celtic are better than villa

I think St. Pats or Shelbourne probably could easily beat Hearts by a few goals. What Irish team's knocked Hibs and Aberdeen out of the UEFA cup a few years ago?

What I find scary and quite bizarre is "You'll never walk alone" being played at an Irish International.

maybe this season but certainly not before. Why does alan thompson a villa reject get his game at celtic? Because there football is a lower standard that the premiership! simple

Believe me thompson was brutal at villa!

I think I remember George Hamilton saying it was requested by Damien Duff, the poor lad was probably giving Liverpool a subtle hint that he doesn't want to play for Scum next season :p

i don't know, but hibs or aberdeen aren't as good as hearts, who are consistently the best team outside the old firm

i like the idea of irish football being better than scottish, but it seems a little unlikely to me, for some reason

sure villa were better a few years back, but 30 years ago celtic were probably better
anyway, villa look pretty terrible now, bottom half of the table?

i don't really think it was duff that has been requesting you'll never walk alone

    lol sproston:p

What about those morons who purposely wear Celtic jerseys to Ireland matches? ITS NOT THE SAME THING !!! The booing of rangers and ex-rangers players is absolutely pathetic. The whole Rangers/Celtic thing is apparently a religious thing, but I can almost guarantee you that 90% of the fans of either side never go to church. Personally, I hate Scottish football, and I await the day the league eventually folds and the "Big Two" have nowhere to play.
