Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

At last he's gone. I believe he'll be a total failure in Spain and will last only one season before Real will cop on that he's useless and totally over-rated.

The deal seemed rather poor imo,

    5 million straight cash
    12 million over 4 years
7 million depending on Reals`s Champ League Performance.

I think they are glad to offload him, he`s an exceptional free kick taker, but ordinary player .

I`d like to see the lineup for a REAL freekick next season ...

Hopefully he wont be in the news as much now that hes gone to Spain. I dont think hes useless, but he defo is over-rated. It will be interesting to see how he gets on at Real. Will he even get into the starting line-up??

hopefully he will be gone off the news for a while. we'll have about a week or 2 to endure first

Sky News said today that Réal Madrid are set to make 100 million out of the Asian market because of Mr Beckham. so Madrid are the only winners

cant see how Madrid will ake that much money in Asia, look at the chain of Man Utd Stores that are in place in the Far East, they couldnt even make that much moneyt off him, they will be luck if they get 25 million in merchandising(but thats still pays his transfer fee anyway)

The Asians are nuts about certain footballers. I think they give more attention to David Beckham than the entire United team. The fact that he is moving clubs will mean they will all want his new jersey with Real. Not sure if the 100mil figure is realistic but they will definitely be able to cash in big time.

    Finally......

I'm still surprised at the deal though.... moneywise.

I expected them to get at least €30mil. Not for playing ability, but marketing ability.

It kinda makes you think that ferguson really just wanted to offload him. They knew he would only go to real - so they had to accept that offer.

FROM NOW ON - BECKHAM IS DEAD. WOOOHOOOO

They sold him for £25 million (€35million). Sounds fair enough to me.

Well, when you think about it. The financial situation in the clubs around Europe are not the best at the moment, so you probably wouldn't get an offer for £35million etc. nowadays. And you must remember, Beckham is 28, he has only a few years left especially as he is a winger so you would not get much more for him than what they got.

The whole of Spain are going to be shocked when they see how normal Beckham is. The people in Spain usually only see his goals which are exceptional and thats why he is where he is.

I hope Madrid get beaten at the weekend, I'd love to see Sociedad win such a big league.

No Way was it enough, he is only the 8th most expensive player behind Zidane, Figo, Vieri, Crespo, Buffon, Ronaldo to name a few! I thought Real would have at least outbid Barcelona who reportedly had a bid of 30 million accepted.

I hope Real lost it too.

Barcelona offered £30 - I would have at least expected that. If becks gets his game he will make that money back for them in a year.
