OK, so I attempted to upgrade but Windows XP ran into some sort of problem and continuosly did so I had to reinstall W2k. Which I did, but of course then I had to reinstall outlook, so I did, but it can't find all my old emails as they were ina diifferent userbecause the w2k reinstall neccessitated a new user, how do I get all my emails and setting into Outlook XP now? I'm pretty sure they're still there as the users weren't erased, justa new one created.

    Anyone got the answer?

    head over to http://support.microsoft.com
find out how to backup Outlook and copy the files it tells you to backup into the new installation of outlook.
Should do the job, although when I done it a while back I found that the address book didnt work right, but I could get the addresses.:D

    Here try this link
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb%3ben-us%3b196492

Although I recommend before you decide to upgrade your OS in the future that you backup everything of value to you.

i presume you talking 'bout Microsoft Outlook not Outlook Express,
when used as POP3, IMAP, HTTP client MS Outlook stores all user data in a file with extension .pst which usually resides in user's profile folder and is usually named outlook.pst. Do a search for *.pst and import it into outlook
