Road closed all next week for Special Olympics

    The Airport Road will be closed from June 21 to June 29 2003 to facilitate the special Olympics between the 'Morton Stadium' Junction and 'Little Venice' restaurant during the following times:

    7.30am - 9.30am
    12 noon - 2.00pm
    4.00pm - 6.00pm

    Just to confirm, do you know if that is the "old" airport road? Thanks for the tip, would usually be coming by that direction in the mornings:)

    Portions of the Pheonix Park will also be shut for the same reason.

    Furthermore, the park is the hub of the bus network for the games, so expect a fair amount of disruption as a result

    Yes it's the old airport road. From the stadium to just before Airways Industrial estate (the walk way into the estate).

    And there are huge signs around the Blanchardstown Centre to say that is Open from 9am-9pm next Monday, but closed from 3pm Tuesday, I presume to facilitate the Bowling competition at Leisureplex.

    Actually, it shouldn't be too bad - there will only be something like 6-7 departures per hour.
