    If I see another one of these modems I will throw myself off a cliff.

    Any views on these software nightmares :mad: :confused:

    never ha any bother with my conexant modem. Currently connected at 40k.

    Has been taking a few seconds to start loading the homepage now once its connected though.

    I am hoping to pick a v. 92 modem external so i can play with linux and the internet.

    yeh its practically impossible to get linux working with conexant modems, have been trying for the last 3 weeks

    Conexant do actually work in linux...

    where would i find reliable soft modem drivers from ?

    for 95,98 & 2000

    tried those driver from www.linuxant.com but have not been able to get them to work for Mandrake or Suse

    Tried them drivers before and could not get them to work either.

    I have secured a Hardware modem now with v.92 also has SUrf No Limits got v.92 support.

    Does anyone have a script i can run which keeps rediallling until i connect to a v.92 enabled modem.
