United Front Against Muppets.

We the United Front Against Muppets (no Life of Brian quotes) do here by give notice of WAR.

We've declared war on Muppets.

I started this because I was tired of ppl coming on to servers or Irc with names like Tiny-willy and saying "you are all gey" constantly.

The bickering and endless arguments about who deserved the frag and who was at fault when they blow each other up was making me think about leaving Quake for good.

Thats not my style.

So, when I flexed my ops power the other night I found that a LARGE number of the older players were well happy that someone was taking this in hand. In fact we had a good chat about it and we decided to maintain a high level of intolerance for this childishness.

There is no way we can expect corporate sponsorship for a national team if its something the companies wouldnt want to be associated with.

So in conclusion, I'm gonna kick/ban muppets and messers. If necessary I will ask my good mate Shiva to kline repeat offenders.

I'll post a list of what I consider rules and unacceptable behaviour later. But for the moment I am giving everyone a warning. If they listen, kewl. If they dont, well... they were told.

BTW I simply close privates from ppl I kick/ban so save your fingertips.

I'm with Dev on this one.... with a little reservation which I'll state now. I'd hate to see #quake turn into a regeime like #morgue, so I can only hope that this program will weed out the *******s without killing free conversation, friendly slaggin etc. in #quake completely.

Since I trust Dev and think he has easily enough judgement to prevent that, I'm right behind him on this one! ^_^

At Last!!,

I was going to write a huge complaint about certain ppl (one in particular) that land in Quake and #Quake and there is nothing but abousive language, bad behaviour from them from the time you join till the time u leave. I for one enjoy meeting ppl on IRC and really enjoy a gg of Quake without all the hassle of trying to Play Quake and read all the crap some ppl insist on flooding the channel with in Quake or #Quake. It is pleasing to see someone with ops in Quake, and a nearly-respected member of the Quake community take control of a situation before it gets wildly out of control.
