    Following Tuesday's agreement, entrant telecoms will pay EUR16.81 per month to access each of Eircom's local loops -- the same price that was in place before the court battle erupted. ComReg had sought to cut the price to EUR14.67, while Eircom was looking for an increase to EUR27.

    It also mentions ComReg telling the Oireachtas committee that boradband is too expensive.

    Theres an evil money-hungry powermad rat running around, who practically owns this country's future, and despite their best efforts, the people who are supposed to control it have no real power. Their attempts to control it always seem to be destroyed before they take effect, and the rat gains more confidence every time.

    Next thing you know, the LLU charges will be going up further towards the €27 that eircom wanted.

    I'm fairly sure that the €16.81 charge has only been agreed upon until the court case(still ongoing) has been resolved.
