    Help,

I'm trying the moment....I'm having awful problems removing the f***ing heatsink....

There are two restraing clips over the heatsink, and they don't seem to release anyway at all...

I've posted some pics of the heatsink in place....Anyone any ideas?

    Thats a pentium right?
Well from the side on the most accesible part of the heatsink i sugggest the following.

    1. Press the lever down using the handle.
    2. Pull it towards the center of the heatsink.
    3. Lift out of mounting bracket.
    4. Repeat 1-3 with the second clip.

    Easy as pie!

Oh and if that doesn't work.
If you have plastic mounting screws for that bracket then do the following.

    1. Remove all components attached to the Mainboard except the Heatsink.
    2. Unscrew and remove the board.
    3. Turn upside down.
    4. Look for four pins sticking out under the cpu.
    5. Push them back throught the holes and be careful as the whole bracket will come off.

    Easy as cake!

If you're not married to the heatsync you could always cut it off. cut the the clips with a snips/plyers, means buying a new heat sync, but if you are removing it to replace the chip, chances are you'll need a new heat sync anyway.

james the two levers clip in at both sides to the mounting bracket.

u want to lever them out so push the lever down at one side and when it s unclasped from the mounting bracket push it out and away and repeat for the other side
