12 men under 3.48 this year so far. Probably not like the 80's but surely the best we have had in quite a while. Big break through for Brain Murray in Holand with a 3.42 last night. 800m standard not half as hot with only 4 under 1.50, early yet. 1.51 fastest in Ireland this year, any comments? Has the right balance been struck with races? Or was 1999 just the exception for Irish 800m running. Women's 800m seems healthy this year. Will the men's 800m catch up after Cork? Should the session be structured/coordinated so as people get the right races at the right time or has that happened this season?
