a question about stock heatsinks bundled with P4

    right i recently bought a P4 3ghz 800fsb and kinda knew half assed what i was doing i stuck the chip into the mobo and applied the thermal paste and stuck the heat sink on top but now as i read the manual it said apply paste only if the copper plate isn't on the bottom of the heatsink.

    have i fooked it up or is it okay.


    ohh btw the pc isn't running atm mobo was faulty when i got it! :(

    Hey dont worry about that should make no difference. I have the thermal paste on a copper core heatsink and its overclocked and running fine.

    If you arent happy with chancing it, just remove the thermal paste. The whole thing is not as delicate as the instructions suggest.
