Again with the groundbreaking metal festival! Last yeae they brought us Blind Guardian's first ever UK show, and now they are bringing us Nightwish, and Hammerfall's first ever UK shows! Now, for those of you out there who dont know, The Bloodstock is the only UK Metal Festival, and really rather cheap to attend, as apposed to travelling to Europe to see some of the bands that would never play anywhere near us otherwise. Flights from BMI go direct from Dublin to East Midlands, and from there it's only a local bus trip straight into the city of Derby. The Venue is directly in the city centre, and very close to various hotels, and what not.

I went last year, and it is a top quality event.

    For anyone who is interested..
East Midlands Airport (Derby)is the nearest airport,
Bmibaby fly directly there from Dublin tickets are bout 52euro or thats what we paid for ours anyway:)
we looked at numerous ways of getting there but train prices were expensive even so ryanair was cheaper train nearly doubled the price,

May I point out that Hammerfall have been cancelled. This has pissed me off tremendously.

There were 3 bands I was most looking forward to. Nightwish, Blaze, and Hammerfall. Bollocks!

wanted to see 'em for fair while - nightwish + hammerfall only reason was going.

What can I say , one of the best weekends ever. A weekend fuelled by large amounts of beer and hotdogs! and good old fashioned Heavy Metal. A truely great event imho and I am booking my accom for the next one asap :) Was great to meet a lot of the groups in the signing room especially Nightwish! Met Blaze at the bar which was nice indeed a really sound bloke he is.

    Here is to next year!
