Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Something funny happening with session timeouts

I don't know why, but for some reason boards keeps logging me out when I refresh a window, or reply to a topic today. There used to be a 15 minute rule, where even if you opened a new browser window and navigated to boards, or popped off to check you hotmail in the same window, you could come back to the same session. Has this changed?

    That hasn't changed.

Perhaps you normally browse with cookies and your browser is set not to accept them now?

Or, if the sessionid is in the address bar (s=<gobbledygook> after 'php' ) then you'll need to make sure that you have that there to maintain your session.

Hmm - I have it set to use cookies, but I have this in my address bar:

    showthread.php?s=&postid=983161#post983161

I just went over to the UserCP and I got:

    member.php?s=&action=editoptions

Something is confused somewhere... will try deleting the cookie locally.

That all looks fine actually. I didn't describe how the 's' parameter gets passed around very well.

Um, clear the cookie and see if you have any problem staying logged in after you re-login in.

Do you stay logged in if you browse around, or does it only time out if you go away and come back?

[EDIT] All seems fine now. I got a session ID in the address bar after I logged in again, which then disappeared. Everything seems fine now.
