Indeed happy days, Although I suspect the glory days of quake are well over. It all went pear shaped with the arrival quake III, you can fool yourselves all u want but its a poor substitute for quakeworld and even quake II.
I suspect Quake 4 will be a quick flash and then forgotten.

quake3 was such a let down after the first 2.

it hink the thing was gameplay. it sure looked purty, but damn, as a game it sucked cóck....

To think I stopped playing QW cause I hated modem playin with loads of lpb's and was waiting for broadband.
Shows how slow eircon are. Broadband arrives (3 years later) and QW is gone
Stupid Q3.
Ahh the youngsters these days hardly even know what Im talking about with lpb and hpb.

around the time q3 came out all the good uk players were getting cable/dsl , irish players just couldnt compete on 56k or isdn
so quake(outside lans) died here
