Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Turner axes CNX toon channel

In the UK, Turner is closing down its new CNX animation channel to focus on a revamped service aimed at the tween and early teen audience. Toonami will replace CNX as of September.

Since its launch in October 2002, CNX filled its schedule with older skewing animation and edgy films aimed to attract a young male audience. Its younger skewing Toonami afternoon block, however, proved was most successful brand on the channel.

Turner has defended the decision to drop CNX, claiming that the adult market is crowded and competitive. Toonami will air programmes such as X-Men and its new acquisition, the animated Star Wars: Attack of the Clones.

I seldom watch the channel tbh, but it'd still be a shame to see it go. And especially after such a short while on air. You'd think they'd have thought of the competitive market before they launched the channel!

    NOOOOO!!!

    That channel was brillant!

    Cowboy Bebop- Best thing Evar
    Outlaw Star - Great Series
Gundam Wing - Even better series.

The daytime programmes were not to my liking though.

This is not on!!! Where else am I gonna get Harvey Birdman and Sealab 2021?? Loved all the asian movies etc.

I have noticed they've been kind of slack at the mo, with repeats and stuff. Those presenters for Trailer Park and the channel were pretty good.

That new He-Man series was Toonami allright, don't know about Samurai Jack.

    Damn it anyway.....

Well, the good news is that the first post in this topic is not 100% correct. Firstly, they are not turning CNX into Toonami so they can focus more on the early teens market totally, although i am sure that will be a big part of this new channel. It seems that although the channel was doing well the ratings continually fell when live-action shows like the shield or boomtown, or kung-fu movies were shown. So with this new channel they will focus totally on all-action-animation and anime. So you can still expect appearances from Samurai Jack, Cowboy Bebop and sealab 2021 along with much more!!! Although its crap to see all those cool kung fu movies go this can only mean even better anime series and movies being included on the channel. So good news for fans of Anime and action-animation, and somewhat sad news for kung-fu movie fans.
