Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Basicly, as we can see in almost all of my pics (one being http://members.boards.ie/tizlox/telloxhair.jpg ) , I've got these dry patches at the top of my forehead, which came about when I bleached my hair almost 2yrs ago, and It gave me scerisis(sp?) / dermatitis on my scalp.. although its calmed down now, I have some dry patches left over, particularily on my back, but more noticably on my forehead... anybody have any idea on how I can get rid of this quickly?

(and no,its not my gel, I use wax which is dermatalogically(SP?) approved)

Get thee moisturiser. Some of the good stuff. Have you talked to your doctor ?

Its very hard to advice what to do as everyones skin is unique. Talk to a skincare specialist.

Personally speaking I use the Clinique for men range of products. :)

I use bp emollient(sp) cream and its the job for me again ask your doc or pharmacist for more info. Also look out aloe vera based creams

    Very nice pic!! ;)

Take Yellum's good advice, also the bodyshop do really good moisturisers and stuff if you want to try there.

A good way of clearing up dry skin on the body is to have baths regularly and then put on emulsifying ointment.

Doc gave me some ointment for psoriasis on the scalp that was very good. I only had a small bit something similar to yourself but it cleared it up. I'll check the name when I get home.

have had patches of psorisis over the years. Never really did anything about them they kinda went away....

    Anyways....

The skin on my face had become very very dry , flaky and sore. Very attrative indeedy. I started using a face wash/scrub for sensitive skin type that had tea-tree oil in it followed by nivea mostuiriser. I haven't looked back since. Skin is as near to perfect as I'm going to get it.

    Really helped me anyways....

    Rgds,
    A.

I get that on my back from time to time, I think it's a heat rash.
I got some Simple brand showergel, and popped a good few drops of tea tree oil in it. I also got some plain, unperfumed moisteriser, again mixing in the tea tree. Does the trick. Don't use tea tree neat, as it has a drying effect if used in this way.

Could be a common skin thing called Exema. A doc. can order a topical steroid called Elidel that really don't have a steriod in it so it won't leave discolored places on your skin. Follow putting it on with vaseline. Vaseline will help hold the moisture in and in no time the patch will be gone. When I was yonger I used to have this on my knuckles of my fingers but I haven't seen it in years...

Be warned however that Steroid creams for prolonged use and a bad thing, they thin your skin with repeated use, if it is exzema then there have been new creams with out steroids in them delevoped.

But since this seems to have been a reaction to the bleach which hasnt cleared up I'd stick with moisturisers first, Silcock's base is my favourite and if it's still hassling you then the next time you're in with your doctor for a checkup or otherwise then mention it to him/her.

My eyesight must be getting bad:D but I don't see any dry/blotchy skin, except just at the hair line?
All the advice so far is good, especially on the creams.
Follow it all and you will notice an improvement :) and Kalina likes ya already :p;)

Drink plenty of water too,5 or 6 glasses( you can flavour them if you want ) during the course of the day, as if you don't , the first place that shows up is on the skin.
The water helps you De-tox aswell which is good for the skin.

if it is exzema then there have been new creams with out steroids in them delevoped.

The Eildel cream I referred to is a non-steroid cream used to treat exzema. It works wonders....But must be perscribed and is quite expensive.

Their is a moisturising cream called lubradem that my sister uses on cracks on her arms.etc. It works pretty well i used it once when i had a cracked hand it works great, shame about the name though.

I second the E45 suggestion, it's not expensive and is a good lad.

Really though you should go see your GP and get a referal to a dermatologist. A friend of mine a the same thing in almost the same place as you. He swore by getting his hair cut very close regularily and catching whatever sun may be about as often as possible.

Also laying of the booze totally helped the condition immeasurably apparently.

This led him to the most erudite of beliefs: drinking cans while lying in the sun was "breaking even".

Firstly I'd also recommend going to your doctor.

Secondly, the Emulave range is also very good for dry sensitive skin. It is usually stocked next to E45 in supermarkets or chemists.

The moisturiser is pretty strong, so unless you have a lot of dry skin I'd go easy on it. You might consider trying either Emulave or Simple Shampoo though, as they are gentle on the scalp.
