Thigh strain or what?

About two months ago I decided to start walking to or from work (not both in one day) - I was in Blackrock then and am now in Ballinteer and work in town so it's a 9km distance. This takes me about an hour and 40 mins to walk.

All was fine the first few weeks, now about three weeks ago I noticed discomfort in my left thigh, particularly noticeable when standing still, it's fine when I'm walking. It's a tingling sort of feeling, between the hip and knee.

I've kept up the walking but am wondering if anyone knows if this might just be a muscle strain or something, it doesn't really seem to be going away so I don't know if I should lay off the walking for a while or what. I'm going on a walking holiday in Spain in September so I want to be reasonably fit before then.

could be any number of things. Last time I had something like that it turned out to be my IT(iliotibial) band.

It certainly doesn't sound like ITB syndrome anyways.

Could just be a muscle strain or something, if its bad go to a physio and rest.
