Someone suggest the best MODS skins ect

    simple could someone suggest a few good mods and skins. Played quake (+Q2)aswell as HL and Unreal for ages but never really on line.
    a URL or two wouldent hurt

    Hi there, I only play Quake2, so the following is for that game only..

    URLs:

    I generally use http://www.planetquake.com for general Quake2 commentary, reviews etc.

    http://www.bluesnews.com for the best news coverage of Quake/Quake2 and other FPS games.

    http://www.captured.com for Capture The Flag (CTF) news.

    http://www.iol.ie/~joesoap is a good Irish Archive of Q2 stuff, should give faster downloads.

    Mods:

    Get Rocket Arena 2, ID CTF 1.5, and Action Quake 2 to brgin with, there are literally dozens of others. You can download these from http://www.planetquake.com and loads of other mirrors.

    Get the latest Player Models Pack at
    http://www.planetquake.com/q2pmp it should have just about all the skins and models you'll need. Also, visit the homepages of the Irish clans and download their skins.

    Hello,

    from the quake 1 end, there's tons of places to get patches. Basically you need latest versions of quake for windows (winquake) and quakeworld (internet quake).

    One place to get these is www.sujoy.com (sujoy is an alltime great player and his site tells you all you need to get started).

    Teeth pretty much covered most of the Q2 end of things, but you can also find some of the stuff and fast download at www.quake.ie.

    if you wanna play q2 online you will also have to getthe lastest point release which will give you CTF as well.
    is version 3.20 and is about 10 or 15 meg i think. you DO need it to play online.

    you will be able to get drivers for 3dfx cards, as well as useful patches like vewable weapons (really need that) and other syuff

    for aliases and how to use em and what they are goto www.thebind.com (i think)
