    Complete with a “pilot test” of PIN cards in Kildare next year. They are obviously in a “no worries mate”, take your time mode in relation to the probably €30 million+ in fraud and other losses that will pass under the bridge between now and when smart cards have completely locked down Ireland’s plastic card system in n years time.

    Must be nice to drive home every night in the knowledge that you have the highest margins in your industry in Europe!

    People have been using PINs for years at bank counters, at ATMs and in Post Offices in Ireland. Ditto with the banks at the recieving end.

    Needless procrastination and copycatery of the victorian banking system on a neighbouring island that is still struggling to install real time banking and PIN based authentication in bank branches.
