Why we need to get a new name for Q2 TGB

now will the irish times print a name like that? what sort of an image does this portray of us? its not going to b realistic to expect any sort of sponsership or publicity with a name like that.

I can't remember who suggested The Big Bad Green Muppets but it made me laugh ;-) Bigger Badder Greener Muppets maybe.

All the names I've come up with for things so far have been daft, Hibernians, IQCL (who'd use that now, come on!), Guns Islanders (wha'?), Team.ie <IMG SRC="http://lacerta.ucg.ie/boards/biggrin.gif&quot; WIDTH=15 HEIGHT=15 BORDER=0 ALT=":D">

If we could settle on something like Team2.ie we could pretend the two squads are sister teams or something, although Team.ie isn't the official name of the Q1 squad either? Kind of sounds like Terminator 2 (TM) or something to do with Aer Lingus though doesn't it?

You could go for some _official_ variation on TGB like The Green Brigade and save the use of Thievin' Gipsy Bástards for those in the know :-)

Yeah, Butcher has hit the nail on the head the name would only hold back all possible interest in sponsership media coverage etc.

As for a name sometimes it's a good idea to keep it simple and with most Irish people not really knowing much about Quake ie what a frag is etc.
I reckon Quake2 Irish team is fine.We can have a nickname among ourselves IE Hibs

anyway i like crith talun, it has a nice sound to it. of course if you dont want to mix it up with castor you could call the team

Nice one make sure you humiliate them and btw don't play them on dm8, they'll prolly pick it anyway so maybe if you pick it you'll stand a better chance on quake.ie.

ah go on anyway. scream won their first match last week despite having 400+ pings. you'll get placed in the lower divisions nad they're full of new clans. things will get better on the connection front.
