This is just to enlighten those of you who think that playin from UL is pure heaven all the time.

Plassey Village is in a 'bottleneck' on the UL network. When I got my PC first, there were 20 PC's in plassey village, and of those 20 there were maybe four that were on the internet. This meant a rock solid ping any time day or night, because fukk all staff used it, none of em at night anyways.
Now, there are over 70 computers in plassey village, and EVERY one of them is on the net, at almost any time of the day you can see about 20 machines on the net with a sniffer.
When you add that to the fact that Quake.ie servers are at the moment on a bad connect because of moving offices, what you get is basically a varying ping.
What that means is that when UL ppl connect to 'IGN' servers, you get 25 pl and the ping hops constantly from 150 to 400, hits 90-100 scarcely. This means that one second you're allowing for 200ms delay, next its 400, having a set pushlatency fukks this up even more. You're dead before you see who killed you, you are no more a fuccking LPB than charlie haughey.
Now, Indigo on the other hand, is usually perfect, 35-90 steady ping, the odd time it goes because of UL traffic, you've seen that.
This is the reason nD quit the server in the INC game the other day, and fair fux to them, they have agreed to a replay, but my point is this:
There are only a few servers in this country in comparison to others, this is the OFFICIAL irish clan league, why can't we play on the best server at that certain time? The problem the other day wasn't a UL one, it was a Quake.ie problem, coz when we went into indigo straight after, the ping was PERFECT. I'm not one of those sore losers who looks for new games coz of spite, I dont mind losing fairly, but Im fuccked if I'm losing a place in the finals because of a fuccking server. Ok, Tinet are having problems because of moving offices, well then lets put the maps on Indigo and play there until Tinet sort themselves out. Sure the same shiite happened a few weeks ago with another team that lost because of server connections, while over on indigo everything is rosy. It's bullshiit, and we won't play another game until either Quake.ie is sorted out, or the IQCL committee agree to let the matches go ahead on Indigo or IOL.

    Zero.

    Sorry bout the delay Ronan...

I was talking to Ed about this very same thing.
afaik - what happened last week (according to Conor) was someone stepped on a cable and pulled it out of the server box in the TInet Comms room. Hence the disasterous pings.

I'll ICQ ya later about it - I need to find him. He's in the middle of exams like and I don't see much of him. I'll find him tonight and have a more definate answer for everyone.
