serious post need help...not quake tho..databases

    um ok so like i have a database right...and i have um well lots of fields in it ( um 60 to be exact)

    i have all my customer info in it like which person bought what machine and when and the serial number for it and what type of machine it is....BUT...my problem is that i cant find/write a search facilty that will allow me to just type in one word and it will macth it with the custmer and all details of that customer...i also need to be able to cross reference it...within that database and with another database that is in same dir also......

    as i said i need this for work..my boss asked me for it therefore payment is given
    ok that should work...if nayone cna even write a thing for me that would be even better and worth more.....
    basically i need a search/cross reference facilty that is easy to use ( me boss doesnt no his **** from his elbow) and very good/detailed
    its all one its like....fields r...customer , tel, name, store, machine type, machine model, machine make, date, invoice number, contract, warranty etc
    so like if i need to see when jimmy o' toole bought his pc...i need when...how much.....warranty....other repairs
    but i also have a seperate supplier database that i need to cross reference that with the other one to make sure they match
    um so like i said payment is given as t is work related but yee wont get any credit off me coz im a stingy ***** and am gonna keep 95% of the money so there ahahhaa
    plz help ......
    no not a psychitractics number not that type
    and no not a book on spelling either!

    Well I'm assuming it's Access? Yeah. Well in Access there is a standard search facility (binoculars) on the menubar.
    It's also possible to have a combo box that lists all files but the handy thing with the combo box is when you type one letter it shows you the first record beginning with that letter.
    I suspect that what you want to do might require some coding and I'd be happy to help seeing as bloody coding Access Databases is all I'm doing at work at the mo.
    If you want to you can mail me a copy of the .mdb and I'll have a look at it and see what I can do. Also give me exact details of what you're looking for.
