Missed exams?

    hi :)

    got some questions, need the voice of experience please :)

    1) what happens if you miss your exams and havent dont any projects? are you kicked from college?

    2) what steps do you go through to get back in? re-apply through cao, or can you still repeat if you didnt do some exams?

    3) if you missed some exams can you repeat them in august or are they forfeit?

    You should check with your college. Different regulations for different places

    Colleges are generally lenient. UCD (Science) for example specifies that a student is disqualified in a course if his lecture attendance is unsatisfactory. Now they don't enforce this. The fact that I passed last year is testament to this :)

    For most courses, afaik, once you're kicked out, you stay out. UCD science disqualifies someone, who doesn't pass first year in two tries, from ever attending science again.

    Missed exams are usually taken as a 0%. So generally you can repeat exams you didn't turn up for.

    But every single faculty in every college has different exam regulations, you should check these out, and also have a chat with your Dean.

    You really need to talk to the head of your college.

    in some cases if projects aren't handed in then you can automatically fail the module and have to retake it all the following year.

    dunno how the repeat thing works in other college but in UL anyway if you miss an exam and dont have a valid reason e.g. a medical cert then the repeat result is capped at a C3
