    er the pings still suck too and from the uk:/

    And the UK pings to us suck just as bad. Either Alter Net or Business Net routers are rubbish.

    This is prob gonna come out all crap but its as I suspected, a uk node is frigged.

    The Fddi0-0.BR3.LND1.Alter.Net router in London appears to have
    considerable packet loss. Packets to some UK domains go through this
    router - packets to others such as virgin.net and btinternet.com go
    via the USA and are fine.
    I noticed this problem a couple of weeks ago and got in touch with
    uu.net (alter.net) about it. They are investigating. The line to
    London is shared by Tinet and Indigo so both are affected. IOL use
    alter.net too but it's a different line.
