Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Man United move for Kleberson

    From Sky Sports
Manchester United have made a dramatic last-minute bid to hijack Kleberson's move to Leeds, Sky Sports News can reveal.

Brazilian star Kleberson, currently plying his trade at Atletico Paranaense, is thought to be considering a move to Old Trafford for a fee of around £7million.

The significantly inflated asking price would almost certainly leave Leeds out in the cold with the Yorkshire club in the middle of a financial crisis.

United boss Sir Alex Ferguson wants Kleberson, 24, to help national team-mate Ronaldinho settle in at the club once he has completed the formalities of his £20million move from Paris St Germain.

Last week Leeds had thought they had closed in on a deal for Kleberson for around £3million.

However, the samba star stalled after holding talks with Old Trafford chief executive Peter Kenyon.

The glimmer of hope for Leeds is that Ferguson will need to offload one player - probably Juan Veron to Chelsea for 14million - before he gets the funds for Kleberson

    £7 million quid for a glorified babysitter/friend. lovely :p

Err surely Man u would have money for it even without the veron deal... £25mil for Beckham.
    -£20mil for Ronaldinho
    -£7mil for Kleberson
    - whatever the 2 other young lads cost.

Surely they had a budget of at least £10mil to spend on players before selling people....?

I wouldn't believe the £7M fee. Hadn't both Arsenal and Newcastle had bids of around £4M accepted for him?

The thing that could undo a deal going through is the fact that he's a non EU national. Howard, Veron, Ronaldinho and Kleberson - only three of them can be in a match day squad. I think this is the reason for the Veron leaving stories.

But in the champos league, foreigners dont make a difference does it?

And its not 25mill for Becks. It will only get that high if Utd do the treble isnt it?

Potentially, it can be 25....but it was only 7 up front.

Also, i heard the price went up when utd declared interest...

He needs a work permit to work in the UK as a non-EU national.

Kleberson would probably want to sign for United ahead of Leeds if Ronaldinho is there and it would help them both settle in England.

Milan and Inter did in the late 80s/early 90s with Gullit, Van Basten, Rijkaard, Matthaus, Brehme and Klinsmann. Worked out well for all of them.

Veron has a EU passport doesn't he? Wasn't he cleared of forgery or something when he was in Italy?
