BTW we might be heading down your way this weekend, you gonna be about?

ERrrrrrrrr Dev, I dunno about my connection, but I certainly know two-three things:
- I can't have all the irish + french quakers at one time in my 32 square meters flat
- I doubt they'll all be free at the same time (maybe you guys will, but for us.....)
- don't you prefer to go visit the Petites Femmes de Pigalle? on your little free time?
)
- other than that, why not after all....

We'll discuss that wednesday night (****e I had planned to go to the movies that night!)

cyas tomorrow all
Marie

Ok, its getting close now so here's some of the info I have to share and requests for volunteers.

We're flying out on friday. Back on sunday or monday (depends on the people).

While we're there, we will have no access directly to the internet so requirement number 1 is a laptop with a network card (or even just a PCMCIA network card if anyone has one).
If anyone can loan such a thing for the weekend I'll be mightily grateful.

Reviews and demos will be made available from our homesite and I might even try to set up a winamp boardcast for a half hour from Maries place (have to ask her first!). To this end, can you lads in UL have a look into connecting to a station I setup and resending it to the rest of the country as I dunno if maries connection would be enough (even though she has cable). This is all subject to me speaking to marie, but its something that could be fun both for the french and the irish.

Regarding a big meetup on the day. We're in luck Leprecon falls on the same weekend and would be a blast anyway. Given that they have fast internet access onsite, it seems tailor made for d/ling demos and watching them on a big screen maybe.
I know people are making moves in this direction but we need offers of help and more importantly, computers to bring to the lan.
Dont direct such offers at me as I wont be here. I'll let the person responsible for coordinating it speak here himself

There will be a meeting on irc on wednesday night to discuss all this. 10pm on IRC.IOL.IE. This is not a public meeting but anyone who has something to add is welcome.

We have a bank account now. The details are:

Sortcode: 900084
A/C Number: 49087696
Name: TEAM.IE

signatures from myself and Gerry (Vex) are required to withdraw money or sign cheques.
Some people have offered cash to support the team which is very nice of them.

If we end up with a surplus and its enough to buy a ticket to France, then I will raffle a ticket to France. If we dont have enough then we might raffle another prize, like a copy of Tribes or a piece of kit. 10 quid or more donated to the account will get you entry into this draw, if you gave 20 quid I'll put you in twice
Remember you are supporting more then just the current team going to france, this is a test of the concept of semi-pro gaming. If we can make this work, it goes a long way to improving our chances of further sponsorship and events (like QPII).

Ok, this is all pretty much off the top of my head. Comments , suggestions and offers of hard cash are welcome.

DeV.

As far as i'm concerned, i suggest you to have a 'Paris by night' tour and visit the Petites femmes de Pigalle as i would be one of your taxi driver
