I need help with a Dell Latitude CP Laptop, as far as I can make out it has just died for no reason, when you turn it on the screen stays off and the only sign of activity is – directly under the screen there is three LEDs the left-hand one flashes at a steady rate of 1-1-1. stop 1-1-1

The battery and the power both seem fine. But absolutely no other action occurs.

    Can anybody please give advice?

    this laptop is quite old...

Is it an older lappy like a 233 or that? If so then the left led is the power supply. Are you running it on battery at the moment? Trying using ac. If that sorts it then your battery is knackered. If it happens on ac then maybe your ac transformer is knackered. Was the battery holding a charge for long before this happened? Maybe go into a pc store and ask to try it on a fresh ac adaptor.

Im sure some of the guys here will be able to help you out but try posting in the technology forum
