from enn again (they are good aren't they) http://www.enn.ie/news.html?code=9368672
The European Commission has imposed a fine on Wanadoo, France Telecom's Internet arm, for abuse of a dominant position in the ADSL market. The Commission is imposing a fine of EUR10.35 million, saying that Wanadoo practiced predatory pricing up to October 2002, keeping its retail prices below cost. This practice restricted market entry and development potential for competitors, said the Commission, to the detriment of consumers, in a market that is key to the development of the information society.
No chance of Eircom getting caught in that type of situation. Or is there?

I see with my recent bill they are promoting a new 'loner' phone deal where you pay 22.50 (the line rental) and get 5 euro worth of calls for free, if your typical bill is less than 7.50 per month. Mind you, if you go above the free fiver worth you'll get double rate charged for the next fiver worth.
