Someone uses the same avatar as me (and has been for ages). But what was worse is that the avatar that I was gonna change to (I took note of the name as I went through each and every one the first time round - the nice colourdy one was a standby) has quite recently been taken by another user who changed to it. And we post on the same threads.

Well fook it anyweh The amount of time it takes to go through the few thousand avatars is too painful to bear. Well for now at least.

On all the boards that i post on so far nobody has had the same av as me, mainly because we can all have our own custom ones.

I am sure i have the same av as someone here on boards, as they are all preloaded unless you subscribe. Anyway if i do, please tell me,

i usualy look at the avatar of the person posting and use that to find out who is posting .... somone is using gerry's i kept getting them 2 mixed up .. theres a few ppl dubbling up but mine i dont think anyone is using .. i must change it tho

I thought boards.ie owned/borrowed the avatars, and therefore how can someone steal yours, as its not yours, unless you yourself designed it. I see afew people with the same one as the one i'm using, i don't mind

Originally I registered with my current avatar, which i thought was my own for a long while until i saw dappergent with it who has been registered for longer than me (and so, probably got the avatar first). SO i changed ti to wren from wren and stimpy, but it just wasnt right, and people were pm-ing me on irc about it!, so with dappergents permission i went back to the cow. /me sends dappergent a box of roses.

Yes, I know who i was. I'll have you know that, out of respect to your superior post count, I switched mine to a different Snoopy icon. I don't post so much that you'd notice, but I have. Think happy thoughts.

whenever i see a post I look at the avatar and don't really look at the name unless I see them post a lot....so I end up mixing up people a lot. I once saw somone post something that needed spoilers so I was about to send a PM to another person with the same avatar and only realised it at the last moment. however I am glad to see that no-one has stolen my avatar.
...though sigs (especially sig pictures) are a very good way of distiunguishing between ppl.:ninja:

Thank god some one is thinking that way...

If you want to make your own avatar then pay the 50 yoyos and then submit it for approval. I don’t think 50 yoyos a year is two much to ask for.

You use boards.ie, (if you can afford the 50 euro) it would be nice to give something back to help boards.

During my early days as a poster, i.e when I was a noobie.(Which kinda is still now seeing as I've been here only a few months.) I had the same avatar as... someone who I can't remeber. I got kinda confused so I changed it like a confused little boy would.

I like it when everyone has different avatars. Names aren't easily stored in my memory, but pictures can easily be remembered. That's just me though, for all I know there may be something wrong with my head.

Well, if a newbie is looking around before joining they should see that everyone should have a different avatar.

Its a bit different when newbies join up i suppose i know when i joined i didnt know anything about avatar's i didnt even know people had prefered ones i just signed up and started posting
they dont really tend to think that a little pic beside your name means that much to anyone i know it wouldnt upset me if someone else started using my avatar

Got the same one as a mod, but I don't particularly care. Dunno who got it first but I suspect it wasn't me. I did go looking for a new one but there was just too many and I gave up. It's just too much on a flipping dial-up connection.

I actually hate my avatar.

When I decided I needed one I trawled through the avatar pages to pick one. At the time this was the only one that I hadn't seen anyone with. After that there was a slight influx of avatars(LOTR for example) but I never got around to changing it.

Until the time that I stump up the 50 euros this will be mine(and mine alone)
