    WBN do wireless around Tullamore.
Have it in work, very fast, no limits on download or upload.
most expensive part is the set-up, e.g. your big f**k off arial

Contact Yorkie (Keith Yorke) if you want radio networked connection in Tullamore but I am fully sure that his link is business only, and its quite expensive

    But you'll never contact him

Ok, new hope on the horizon.
That new business park out your way ian, on the portlaois road will have three companies comming into it with the intent of rolling broadband out in tullamore. Eircom, East and Board gas are all putting offices in there. Don't know what board gas has to do with bb but how cares. Three at once means compitition.

ye i know looks good when i saw the line out my rd and got a lettor sayin i could get it ... somone should tell eircom tho they keep saying my line has failed

according to the engineers the exchange was done about 2 weeks ago now

Has anyone any experience of WBN wrt cost, reliability etc?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 355 ✭✭Headcase

    Used WBN in work.
Not sure about cost, never went into that.
Keith doesn't own it by the way. Guy called John Fullon.

Reliable, but can be jittery at times

I take it you live around Rosemount??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,315 ✭✭✭Occidental

No, Mullingar, but work is in Athlone. I know a fair few people from the Athlone, Moate, Clara area who are after ADSL, so as I had an Eircomnet rep in front of me, I thought I'd ask.

    Folks,
I have a cost effective wireless solution almost in the bag for all the areas youve mentioned so stay tuneed and I will have details very soon!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,315 ✭✭✭Occidental

You wouldn't believe how many cost effective wireless solutions we've had around here, which have failed to see the light of day.
Details are always better than promises.

  • Registered Users Posts: 728 ✭✭✭pablo21

I think you'll find that most if not all of them had to buy their bandwidth from eircom and as such could never be cost effective.
I will post full details here very shortly.

Most if not all were planning on using Satellite.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,471 ✭✭✭elexes

nice dl speeds from sats ... but crap for most other things . usualy there ( from the ones i read about ) was massif restrictions on what u can/ cant do
