Just with portability being a real possibility these days, can people make sure their insurance is also portable. My sister lost her phone last week (fell out of pocket on boat) and the form only allowed for the possibility of an O2 phone with an 086 number (it is O? isn't it :)).

The prefix will not be relevent. If you were to port from O2 to Meteor for example, I presume that Meteor will ask you do you want insurance with them and that when your account is closed with O2, they will cancel your insurance agreement.
