Just read this on Electric News and think that now is an extremely important time for Ireland in relation to access costs for the Internet.
If Eircom wins it's case against Comreg we will once again be plunged into the dark ages and will loose even more ground to the rest of Europe.........

Oftel has ordered BT to cut its wholesale Internet prices following an investigation into unmetered access. The wholesale charge for dial-up unmetered Internet access is to be trimmed by 17 percent, a move that is expected to lead to lower costs for users. The decision by the British telecoms regulator comes on the back of a complaint from Cable & Wireless, which claimed that BT charged operators for services they did not want or need. In its decision, Oftel said that BT no longer needed additional mechanisms to protect its system, and it would no longer be allowed to include charges for these services in wholesale prices.
