    I have been training liverpool for 5 years and Phil thompsonm tells me that the player could be trying harder. I tried everything... i.e changing position and it still doesn't work. Any ideas.

    Been coaching them or training them?

    Create your own customised trainings. And rotate your players in these. It should improve their stats and satisfy Phil Thompson.
    Also scout for good coaches. They'll really help your players improve.
    Don't be afriad to experiment.

    I don't know if this will work for you but this is my training schedule and I consistently get 4 and 5 stars out of my players. Here's my schedule;

    Sunday - REST
    Monday - Pig in the middle---Technique---Closing-down session
    Tuesday - Spints---Overloading(Attack)---Crosses
    Wednesday - Technique---Shadow Play---5-a-side(large pitch)
    Thursday - Pig in the middle---Set Pieces(Attack)---Weight Training
    Friday - Set Pieces(defense)---5-a-side(small pitch)
    Saturday - Pig in the middle---Overloading(attack)--Overloading(D)
