Erm, ok. We'll let you quietly bugger off into the night and won't kill you!!! :)

Metallica have lots of classic riffs - Sound great and are simple to play. The way all great riffs should be:

    Paranoid - Black Sabbath
Smoke On The Water - Deep Purple
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
    Basket Case - Green Day
Rock 'n Roll - Led Zeppelin
    Last Caress - The Misfits
    Astronomy - Blue Oyster Cult
    Pantera - Cowboys From Hell*
    Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne
Anthrax - I am The Law
    AC/DC - Thunderstruck

    * This is probably the most dificult of these to play but it could just be me.This is proof to PORNAPSTER that i don't judge a band without having actually listened to them and basing fy opinions on facts. (See thread: Zepplellin the best) I did include the spelling mistake on purpose.

Well most of the people on this board have heard Pantera before, so I didn't really need to see any proof that you listened to them. You listed some damn good riffs there. Some that I've never actually really tried to play. I must learn a few.

Another Pantera song full of great riffs has to be Mouth For War. Fucking excellent!

    Enter Sandman - poor

    Fuel - Average

Metallica's new album - Awful (Frantic is the worst song of recent times)

Think about it clearly, they're so bad they're on Tour with Linkin Park (who amazingly are far worse than metallica)

Classic Rock Died when Punk came in the late 70's. Since then nothing permanently classic has been released (guns n' roses came close, they kept the dream alive).

How about My friend of misery, TJ?

    That's a classic.

Erm... you only listed Metallica's new songs there. What about For Whom the Bell Tolls, Seek and Destroy, No Remorse, Creeping Death, Master of Puppets and Damage Inc. ?

I'd like to hear you writing and recording a better song. I'm not saying Sandman or Fuel are the greatest songs ever but compared to some of the cr/\p that's out today, they are pretty close.

Christ, I think even Barney the purple 2+2is4 dinosaur has recorded better tunes than some of the slop that's on the last few Metallica albums... :)

I know we shouldn't be givin' out 'bout Metallica here, but it has come up several times now so I can't help it: Metallica are burnt out...they have nothing left to give the world - they died a long time ago & should have left it there but they have chosen to fill CD's with their alternative country or what ever the hell it is that they've been releasing! St.Anger? No comment... - sorry, I couldn't help myself...I'll take my vallum now...ah, dat's better :)
