NEVER PRESS TAB RETURN......hence the empty message.

Anyway..I have been trying to install NT on this heap of sh!t of a machine....

Setup was unable to install Windows NT Boot Loader.

Ensure that your C: drive is formatted and that the drive is not
    damaged.

Setup cannot continue. Press ENTER to exit.

I have formatted, Fdisked, been through the bios several times...tried EVERYTHING......can ANYONE help me
    PLEEEEEEEEEEEEZE!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm no expert but I was wondering if you formatted the HD with the /s extension.
i.e. "format c:/s" to copy system files.

well no, I didn't, since I Fdisked it (repartitioned it) but I have a boot disk....which gives me cd-rom access.
I asked some admin type guy, and he said to do minimum install of Win95....so i did...then he said to run autorun.inf...so I did...and that is the error I get.

this was all done after I tried to install from dos.....which after going 90% of the way...gave the same error.
    My head is wrecked.
ANY suggestons at all are very welcome.

some PC models will not run NT, most will but i've had 2 i think that just would not work with it. check that the manufacturer states its NT compliant. even if they don't say its compliant, it normally works fine.

Have you tried a diskless install?

This may work if you can access your cd

go to the i386 directory on the cd
    type winnt32 /b

Okay...I have just formatted again and am using a 95 boot disk...with the cd rom drivers on it.
it boots up . I go to the cd-rom and type
    winnt /S e:\i386 /B

it siad that the drive was locked....so i used the LOCk command to unlock them....(that might have been the problem.)

typed the same commadn to install it...and now it is copying the files. COOOOL.
BUT it is the bit afterwards that usually causes the trouble... saying unable to write to the boot sector....etc..(as above)
    I hope it won't happen.

What is the difference between winnt32 and winnt install files?????????
I have only tried the latter...but tried the first before..and it said it needed to be run in windows...not dos.

    Please keepin posting suggestions...
    Spanx again.
