Just wondering, what is the legal age to get tattooed or pierced in Ireland?

As far as I know there is no legal age for tattoos. There's no laws on the subject. At least there wasn't a few years ago anyway. That said though, no respectable place will do anyone under eighteen.

Most place won't touch you if you are under 16 you will need a guardian:) :ninja:

The recommended age with out parental consent is 16 years of age. but with a parent guardian its 14+ for anything other than ears. For genitals/nipples on females the age is 18 due to a law that states that piercing of the gens/nips is counted as sexual abuse for under 18s. Hope this helps!

18 as well, unless you go somewhere v dodgy who pierce underage kids...and well that'd be a bad idea!

Yeah, while there's technically no legal age, piercing people under 16 could leave shops on the end of child abuse cases. Most places prefer not to pierce people under 18, cos you're still growing. Some places are ok to get pierced (ears, nose). Other places aren't.

the age for male gen piercings is still the same-18 years-under that is counted as sexual abuse!
