    Right,
    I've been using winamp for....
    well forever.

    When winamp 3 came out i downloaded it, hated it and went back to winamp 2...
    but these days winamp 2 just looks dated compared to the rest of my desktop.

    I want an mp3 player that looks cool, doesn't hog space on desktop, (I always have winamp in the minimal mode) and obviously plays a large selection of types of file, mp3/wma/mid/wav/ etcetc...

    Any Suggestions?

    WMP9 looks nice and small (& up to date) using the Revert skin

    (if that isn't too evil)

    There's a powertoy that can minimise it to the taskbar with buttons intact. Using XP it does this by default IIRC.

    bah, just get a nice skin for winamp & stop whinging.
    wmp9 is alright, winamp 2.91 is far more functional tho.
    i use the default skin for winamp btw and i'm happy with it, older skins don't do the library so it looks fairly out of place.

    getting back on topic.....

    have you looked at the skins available for winamp3 fisty?, there is bound to be one you like ... I'm currently using MMD3 ... its highly configurable and tasty looking..

    winamp 3 is a total pig when it comes to resources, I've installed it before and i ended up just deleting it.
    i'll have a look at the skins again anyway,
    Maybe I'll just write my own one:)
