    I have a video camera, i wish to save sections of my film as avi's, waht do i do,
    waht DO i do ?

    please answer with the most minimal ammount of bulll**** pleez

    Get a video capture card. They normally come with that stuff.

    Better to save in MPEG though.

    You need really expensive **** like adobe premiere. Get graphics magazines with covercd's to start with.

    Or, if you like...

    P.S. To save as mpeg, you normally have to convert from avi anyway. You would need something like XING encoder

    Not at all...

    Low spec, get a WinTV card. They are about $100 over here for a reasonable spec. That comes with software to create AVI's..

    My friend ported a unix proggy which converted AVI to MPEG. It was slow, but did the job.

    The IQCL and the Leprecon Avi's/Mpegs where done with a Cam corder and a WinTV card.
