    It's one of the few books I have bought twice, because my first one just got so tattered from over-reading it made reading it again a delicate operation.

    If you have any interest in the films (and filmmakers) of the 70s, independent filmmaking, or even just the triumph of idealism over convention, you must read this book.

    Particularly interesting are its tales of the making of Jaws, Apocolypse Now and Star Wars. You end up feeling like Spielberg is just lucky, Coppola is a sociopath, and Lucas is a pitiful dork. Which probably confirms a lot of people's thoughts of these three.
