Yes, Cloud edited the rules afterwards. So what? I already explained that arguing the 'letter of the law' doesn't get you anywhere.
wasting ur time??
I though I just did work for u since u are on a crusaide about sigs?? but since, as i said before, nothing will be done about the mods sigs (a subject which you conviniatly avoided)..............

I don't understand the first thing you wrote there. I don't respond well to shopping lists of signatures, but I do check individual cases if someone makes a complaint. A few complaints about annoying links were made, and I see no reason why boards.ie should publish your misleading link. It serves no good purpose and it annoys other users.

still violates the sig rules, no need for a personalised reply. Just posed u among over 50 others

I still think you should get your own house in order first. What do you mean by you "posed" me.

Cloud, how should the 90 character limit be interpreted? Does is include code e.g. or text only? How should character returns and blank space be treated?

Can this be modified to, say, allow X characters + one 32x32 *.gif (within the same height as the text)?

Geesh,

Taking this Sig thing very serious aren't you.

If you didn't piss off the admins in the first place you might have had a chance that they'd be nice to you.

Anyway you are now just making enemies by argueing.

I've never clicked on the logout button by accident. However what's annoying is it stays a logout button after you've logged out, and won't turn back into a login button. The only way to log back in is to go to www.boards.ie again, hit refresh to get the login fields, then wait for it to reload the page, redirect you to the vbulletin page, then if you want to go back to the boards.ie frontpage, type in boards.ie again and hit refresh again. *Sigh*

lol, if u botherd ur ass to check the sigs on the post, you would see that the all violate the rules.. nm though. its clear that its "one rule for mods and another for users".

I'm finished with the convo

I've edited the rules to append " and DeVore is exempted from these rules ".... so now I'm compliant too. :)

If I bothered to check, yes. I didn't. What's more, I won't. If you want to feel picked upon or think that it's all unfair, then fine. I told you you were free to complain, and you were. Complaint noted. I dislike shopping lists, they smack of being a busybody or sour grapes rather than a genuine complaint.

The fact is that you are a muppet and you had a muppety signature. The muppetry of the signature is in no doubt in my opinion, and after this thread your muppetry is more than clear. What anyone else has in their signature is irrelevant to those facts.

I didnt change your tagline but I've changed it back because you are (mostly) being civil.

Lets me explain my whole idea about rules for just about *anything* here with the aid of a simple diagram and small words...

ok, imagine this line runs from 1 ("acceptible") to 4 ("completely unacceptible"). It could be posts, sigs, avatars, whatever.
Now listen closely cos I'm gonna give away one of DeV's little admining secrets here... :)

1.........................2.........................3.............................4
|
|
|
|

Say our rules state that you're post, sig, avatar, whatever have to be compliant with level 1 acceptiblility.

I will, typically, let things go to level 2 without fuss, or perhaps a private pm saying "careful now! :) "

If you hit 3 you are being pretty unacceptible and really in breach of the rules and you will get slapped back to 1 and sat on for a while by the admins.

Pop quiz: Complaining at that point that there are people still posting etc at level 2 is:

A. Ironic
B. Funneh
C. Missing the point entirely.
D. All of the above.

So, yes, there are other people who break our sig rules. Yes we look the other way and its not because they are Mods, theres plenty of people who break the sig rules and we dont edit them.
When you stepped over the "nuisance" line we slapped you back to level 1 of siggy goodness...
This isnt the first time you've blatantly gone out of line with your sig as I recall, so personally I'm letting ecksor handle it. Partly cos its amusing, but mostly because he's not as mentally stable as I am.

DeV.

i went into level 3 once. It was funny but worth it.

Any i bring it up every now and again... like now :p

Anyway, this thread has kinda gone offtopic.

I think you should stick up a confirm dialogue box.

And... whats this new main page everyone is talking about? Looks the same for me.

(does it have a search button on it!?!?)

Level 4 is great - you may even get a phone call.

heh

Er, it seems ok. Break it across 3 or 4 lines.

I'm ending up in a disturbing amount of signatures

Your signature breaks the rules by including the quote code ("

") ;)

I'm reminded of the character from Judge Dredd with the dial on his forehead.

"PUT PORN IN YOUR SIG, AND HE'LL GO UP TO FOUR ON YA!"
